About Rebecca Woolis

Marriage & Family Therapist

I have had a part time private practice for many years. I see a wide range of clients grappling with many of life s challenges. I work with individuals, couples, and families, doing short term and long term therapy as well as consultation. I use a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral, family systems and psychodynamic. I tailor my approach to each individual, their goals and the situation. I have worked with people with psychiatric disorders and their families for decades both privately and in community mental health programs that I have directed.

Author of: When Someone You Love Has a Mental Illness first published in 1992 (Tarcher/Penguin) revised and expanded 2003, I have offered trainings in the U.S. and Canada to staff and family groups about various topics related to mental illness and people with dual substance use and psychiatric disorders.

I have also enjoyed working extensively with lesbians individually and in couples.
